Elementor's ecosystem is getting bigger and bigger, bringing together many of the tools you need for your online business. Elementor has now created its own free Cookie Consent mechanism for WordPress websites. It helps you create a consent banner, generate a cookie policy, scan your website for cookies, and provides reports to help you stay compliant. In this guide, we will show you what is included, how it works, and who needs it.

What is Elementor Cookie Consent?

Before we talk about Elementor’s Cookie Consent tool, it is important to understand what cookie consent actually is.

Cookie consent is the permission website visitors give you to collect, store, and process certain information about them through cookies and other tracking technologies. In simple words, when someone visits your website, a cookie banner usually appears asking whether they agree to the website collecting certain information or not.

This is part of privacy regulations that many websites need to comply with. Websites that collect visitor data without proper consent may run into compliance issues.

This is especially useful for creators serving visitors in regions with privacy regulations like GDPR (EU) and CCPA (US).

The information being collected can include website visit statistics through tools like Google Analytics 4, visitor behavior tracking, marketing and advertising cookies, login sessions, user preferences, and other data collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies while visitors use your website.

The purpose of a cookie banner is to inform visitors about what information is being collected and give them the choice to accept or reject it.

Cookie Consent is a Elementor’s new free WordPress plugin that help website owners manage this process directly from the Elementor ecosystem.

Basically, Elementor’s Cookie Consent Mechanism comes with a free trial. You simply need to register or sign in with your Elementor account to get started.

Free Cookie Consent

Elementor offers a free plan that includes access to all the core Cookie Consent features. Let’s make clear what is included, because that will help you decide whether the free plan is enough for your website.

With the free plan, you get 800 consents per month for one website. This means up to 800 new visitors can accept or reject your cookie banner each month. As you know, returning visitors usually don’t need to interact with the consent banner again, although in some cases it may reappear depending on their browser settings or previous choices.

If you expect more than 800 new visitors per month, the free plan may not be enough for you.

The free plan also includes cookie scans for up to 25 pages. A cookie scan checks your website and finds all cookies being used, helping you understand what information is being collected from visitors.

If your website grows, you can easily upgrade your plan to get more monthly consents, additional page scans, and premium features such as multilingual support.

Elementor Cookie Consent Includes:

Let’s take a look at what is included and what each feature does.
  • 800 Monthly consents – when your user lands on your page and clicks the button “accept” or “decline” just overall interaction from one user counts as a 1 consent. Each month you will have 800 monthly consents which will reset start over every month.
  • Consent report – User consent records are stored for 30 days and can be downloaded as a CSV file at any time before they are automatically removed.
  • Cookie scanning and categorization – Automatically finds cookies used on your website and groups them into categories such as essential, functional, analytics and advertising, making it easier to manage user consent.
  • Banner customization – You can use Elementors design options and customize your banner’s layouts, colors, buttons, and copy directly in the plugin.
  • Cookie Policy Generator (coming soon) – Creates a Cookie Policy page for your website that explains the cookies used on your site and their purpose.
  • 25 total scanned pages – Scans up to 25 pages of your website to detect cookies and scripts.
  • GDPR & CCPA compliant cookie banner – A ready-to-use cookie banner that helps your website follow GDPR and CCPA rules for managing user cookie consent.
  • Exportable consent logs – Download your consent records as a CSV file anytime, ready for audits or compliance reviews.
  • Design banner in Elementor Editor – Create and customize your consent banner using Elementor’s Popup Builder with drag-and-drop tools, just like the rest of your website. Requires Elementor Pro to use full design features.
  • Google Consent Mode v2 (Coming Soon) – Connects user consent choices with Google tools so analytics and ads automatically adjust based on what users allow.

What Happens If You Reach Your Consent Limit?

If you reach your monthly consent limit, Elementor will notify you that you have reached the maximum number of consents included in your plan. For now, your cookie banner will continue to function normally, but since this is a relatively new product, things may change in the future. The safest option is to upgrade your plan to make sure your banner remains active and you continue collecting consents without limitations.

Honestly, if you are receiving more than 800 consents per month, that is already a good sign that your website is getting traffic. At that point, investing in a paid Cookie Consent plan is usually affordable and makes sense as your website continues to grow.

Elementor One Agency plan which is page builder and combines many cool features also allows you to have as many consent banners as you want, to manage multiple websites. without that you need to subscribe for each website. If you don’t have any page builder plan yet and thinkning what is the bets investment then Elementor One for one user is excellent and if you do clinets projecjts then Agency plan.

Elementor Cookie Banner

Many people building their first website think that adding a cookie banner is difficult or requires technical skills. Maybe with some other plugins that is true, but not with Elementor.

The customization process is very simple and follows guided steps. The setup is smooth and enjoyable, especially because the design part is always fun with Elementor. Cookie Consent works alongside the rest of the Elementor ecosystem, so it feels like a natural addition to the tools you are already using.

Design Where it Shows

Privacy regulations are important if you are building a website. Creating pages and designing your site is one part of the process, but making sure your website complies with privacy requirements is a completely different thing.

Visitors are more aware of their privacy rights than ever, they expect websites to respect their rights.

You can also view analytics showing how many visitors accepted your consent banner and how many denied it, giving you a better understanding of your website’s consent activity.

Display Conditions and Behavior

For design, Cookie Consent free plan still includes built-in design controls for layout, colors, buttons, you will just be using default banner styling instead of desiging in Elementor.

Note: If you have Elementor One or Elementor Editor with pro popups you can easily use Elementors main designing options.

But don’t think that Free versions designs are limited and not good, our team of developers already tested them and think its even better than other Consent plugins.

Besides the design, it is also important to set your display conditions. In simple words, this means deciding where and when the cookie banner appears on your website.

In most cases, the banner will be shown on the homepage or when visitors first land on your website. You can choose whether it appears on the left, right, or center of the screen, and customize how it behaves when visitors interact with it.

You can also define a list of specific URLs where the banner should never appear.

Control Where it Shows

You will also be able to add “Revisit Consent” option – which basically means, the banner icon will be around and users will be able to change their choices at any time and change the preferences. Giving users the ability to have access of changing their preferences is a key requirement under GDPR.

Elementor gives you plenty of options to control your consent banner, allowing you to create a better user experience and improve mobile optimization at the same time.

Can I Have Different Languages for My Consent Banner?

With the free plan, no. Your consent banner will only be displayed in your website’s default language.

However, if you need multilingual support, Elementor offers multi-language management on its paid plans. This allows visitors from different countries to see the consent banner text in their own language through automatic language detection. This can be an important feature for international websites and worldwide brands.

Keep in mind that this feature only changes the banner text language. If you want to display completely different banner designs to visitors based on their location, Elementor is also working on Advanced GEO-Targeting (Coming Soon). This feature will automatically show different consent banners based on the visitor’s country and selected audience settings.

Who needs Geo-targeting? – well, eCommerce stores selling internationally, based what law requirements are, SaaS platforms, and other businesses that serve across different countries with varying privacy laws.

Elementor Cookie Policy Generator

A Cookie Policy is one of the legal documents that your website should have alongside other privacy-related pages. It explains what data is being collected through cookies and how that information is used.

This feature is currently marked as Coming Soon. Once available, Elementor will allow you to automatically generate a Cookie Policy and add it to your website. You will then be able to place it in your footer alongside your other privacy documents, making it easy for visitors to access.

Not sure what legal documents your website needs? In this guide, we explain the most important legal pages, why they matter, and when you should add them to your website. 👉 Legal Documents for Websites: Complete Beginner’s Guide

Cookie consent banners are important, but you will still find websites that do not use them because many owners think they are difficult to set up. With Elementor, however, you can create and publish one in less than 5 minutes.
